Playing Political Games With The Public’s Welfare

In a continuing hard line effort to protect his signature legislation President Barack Obama and Senate Leader Harry Reid refuse to negotiate on any subject with the Republican led Congress. Congress has proposed several reasonable options on behalf of the American People during the last few days and the Democrats have refused to consider any of them. The President believes that people want the federal government to stay open more than they are willing to stand for their rights and privileges as citizens. It is very unfortunate that a President and Senate Leader can dictate to millions of Americans that they will not work, will not earn any money, will not be entitled to their benefits, will not be able to choose their healthcare, cannot visit their War Memorials and are destroying the United States healthcare system in the process, plus seriously slowing the economy.

To give you proof of how the Federal Government is destroying America’s Healthcare system now in place, let me share with you my personal example of attempting to change my personal general practitioner during the last week.  In 2003 I was a victim of malignant lung cancer and fortunately due to the excellent care of eight physicians they removed the cancer and lymph nodes and I have lived a very healthy life other than having much decreased lung capacity. Up until 2008 these physicians followed my health status very closely and fortunately I received regular annual and semi-annual checkups from each.  I have for my insurance Medicare Part B as primary and Blue Cross Blue Shield as secondary.  Since 2009 six of the eight doctors no longer give me regular checkups and my general practitioner does not schedule them unless I make a specific request to do so.  Recently I talked with two of my doctors and asked for referrals for a recommended General Practitioner that I could change to.  I was given four referrals for very effective GP’s. Upon calling these, two doctors informed me that they no longer would accept Medicare Part B insurance, one doctor would accept both Medicare Part B and BCBS but I would have to pay up front for all services and they would reimburse me after receiving insurance money. The fourth GP would accept Medicare and BCBS on a limited basis.  To me our medical system is no

longer what it once was and it is a result of how the Medicare Program is being administered as well as reducing the amount of money available to fund it. This Administration does not seem interested in effectively managing the programs that we have…only adding more wasteful spending whenever possible…funding for unsuccessful energy startups, government perks including expensive vacations, Las Vegas trips, bonuses, line dancing events, influencing votes, et al. As a once proud citizen I sincerely object to…

Vets storm DC’s WWII memorial, tear down fences, refuse to let Park Service/GOP shut it down

10/1/2013 12:33pm by

A situation has risen at the World War II memorial in Washington, DC. A group of WWII veterans are refusing to let the Park Service close the memorial down. The Park Service is simply following orders, after Republicans in Congress shut down the federal government in order to protest their dislike of the President’s health care reform law that goes into effect in a major way today.

The vets are having none of it, and shut down the shutdown.
